hope is the feeling you have that the feeling you have isn't permanent (jean kerr)....hope is not the conviction that something will turn out well, but the certainty that something makes sense regardless of how it turns out (vaclav havel)....now, Lord, what do i look for? my hope is in you (ps39:7).

words always flow when i'm lonely and sad. i write then because i have to; i can leave some of my feelings on the paper, and what i take with me is a little more organized. it’s like repackaging confusion to make it easier to carry. but when there's nothing to unload, writing becomes harder. today, there’s nothing to unload. it’s a beautiful day, carrying the promise of spring on its shoulders. i went to class in my pajamas and then went running outside, and now i’m feeling a strange sense of accomplishment by forcing myself to sit through biochem lecture. my roommate jen’s parents are coming from california for the weekend, so the suite is all buzzing with excitement (and looking ridiculously clean), and I’m about to start a load of laundry with my new downy fabric softener that is going to make my sheets smell d e l i c i o u s. and i'm singing at a coffee house tonight with one of my freshman girls. it's really not hard to believe on a day like today that there are good things waiting for me just around the corner.
