today i pondered....
it seems that the people who make the biggest fuss about not being "judgemental"...tend to be fairly judgemental themselves. truly laid-back, non-judgemental people don't give a damn what anybody else thinks of them anyway, and generally don't bring the topic up at all.
running long-distance is all mental. it's about talking yourself into it, or distracting yourself from the fact that you are, in fact, planning to run a long distance. even so, it's a bad idea to try it in the sun a hot day on an empty stomach.
when i hear that someone is a vegetarian, i've noticed that i become a little suspicious. it takes a lot of work to be a vegetarian and still be fully nourished. it cartainly takes a lot more calories to do so, unless you want to get your nutrients from a pill bottle. but isn't the underlying concept of being vegetarian (natural, holistic) essentially against little white synthetic pills? not liking the taste of meat is one thing, but doing it for "health reasons" or as a means of weight loss? hm. i have to admit that i find it shady.
...night.
