i'm listening, today. i haven't been really listening much this week, with all the "important" things that must get done. what a waste of life it is, going through days with a task checklist and nothing else. there's so much life right outside my window, so many people that don't care how much i have to do if i'm not looking them in the eyes when i tell them.

there are all kinds of break-ups going on in my class right now. i think the stress is finally getting to everyone, and there's a lot of talk about how the people on the outside just can't understand. part of me agrees, part of me thinks it's a cop-out. for sure, it takes a special person to put up with an M1 in a time like this, when all the emotions and stress levels are running high and deep. there's just no time for other things right now, and yet...there HAS to be time. i always thing about what a strange thing time is, how it's always moving at the same speed but rarely feels like that's true. there's never enough time for certain things and always enough time for others. it's another way to live or waste days; choosing what is worth your time, and what within your time, is worth the gift of your effort, your full attention. you only have so much to give, you know. the things that are the most important don't always present themselves as urgent, and it takes so much wisdom, so much listening, to see the difference. the task list will always be there, waiting; other things may not wait for tomorrow, when you have time to spare.
