hope is the feeling you have that the feeling you have isn't permanent (jean kerr)....hope is not the conviction that something will turn out well, but the certainty that something makes sense regardless of how it turns out (vaclav havel)....now, Lord, what do i look for? my hope is in you (ps39:7).

one week from today i’ll be in a car, heading south. one week from today the great roadtrip begins. i’m not gonna deny it, i'm ridiculously excited. jen and i sat down on the floor last night and put it all on paper. we're staying at justin's grandparent's home for four nights, and then the embassy suites in west palm beach for the next three. it’s a nineteen-hour drive each way. six of us, two cars, nineteen hours. this is where i always used to get angry at story problems in algebra. six divided by two times nineteen obviously equals…laughter, chaos, sarcasm, disagreement, frustration, loud music, chinese fire drills, and lots of junk food. my window is gray and wet right now. my to-do list is five items long. i have a fleece blanket wrapped around my bare legs to keep the chill away. one week from today, all these raindrops and classes and chilly winds can kiss my bikini-clad florida-bound ass.
