hope is the feeling you have that the feeling you have isn't permanent (jean kerr)....hope is not the conviction that something will turn out well, but the certainty that something makes sense regardless of how it turns out (vaclav havel)....now, Lord, what do i look for? my hope is in you (ps39:7).

my own reality tv show
tomorrow marks the beginning of match week. basically, this means that tomorrow at noon, i will either find out that i have matched somewhere...or that i have to call the hospital and take the rest of the week off as i will be in philly participating in the dreaded scramble. drama, drama, drama. the whole process would make a teriffic reality tv show: thousands of neurotic medical students, the fate of their chosen specialties and locations hanging in the balance, all of them waiting for high noon eastern standard time on the ides of march to find out if their dreams of training in Random University Hospital have come true. as a teaser, tomorrow the match service releases IF but not WHERE each student has matched. if the IF is a NO, well... do not pass go, do not collect two-hundred dollars, and proceed immediately to your school, where several phone lines, fax machines, and student affairs aides will hopefully land you a job out of the leftovers. if we could end the whole production with a death-match between chuck norris and the NRMP, i bet people would eat it up.
